Interface is fast. But same hard drive. So, no performance gain at the moment.

Ok. But what do u think about super fast hard drives. Like WD Raptor

Key Features

Killer Speed - World's fastest SATA drive: 10,000 RPM, 4.5 ms seek, 8 MB cache.

Enterprise-class Throughput - With WD's Ultra/150 Command Queuing technology that optimizes the sequence of data transfers to the hard drive from the host, resulting in higher performance in enterprise applications.

Rugged - Enterprise-class mechanical platform with high-end bearings and actuator.

Unsurpassed Reliability - 5-year limited warranty and 1.2 million hours MTBF

Still no difference between SATA and PATA. This is because the sustained sequential read/write speeds of the fastest hard drive is slower than 90MBps whereas PATA interface speed is 133MBps. PATA interface bandwidth is not yet exhausted by any drive, so they can't be slower than SATA. The difference could be less than 1%.

But it's always better to go with SATA because it's the latest technology.

    Thama math hoyanooo....
    I have Six partitions
    80GB 4 partitions
    40GB 2 Partitions.

But they are not equal in size.

I dnt feel much difference from SATA and PATA.
My 80 is SATA and 40 is PATA.
    They both work fine.

Oh wow. 6 partitions in 120GB. Why would you need so many partitions, in such a small space?

hey i got a 160GB hard drive today... bt after i partition it, it says i have only 130GB... is this normal or wat???

130GB is not right. It should be about 148-152GB depending on the manufacturer.
