Even though they are frequently seen flanking presidential convoys in their trademark dark suits and sunglasses, little is truly known about the insulated world of the United States Secret Service. National Geographic’s Inside series delves deep into the inner workings of the secretive organization for an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the upper echelons of national security.

National Geographic - Inside Undercover In North Korea

National Geographic - Inside Undercover In North Korea
    English | Xvid | 874kbps | MP3 | 139kbps | 47min 27sec | 375MB

“UNDERCOVER IN NORTH KOREA No country on earth conjures more mystery - or fear - than Kim Jong Il’s Communist paradise. NGT offers a comprehensive look at the most reclusive member of the ‘Axis of Evil’, from the tense world of the Demilitarised Zone to the surreal life of the Dear Leader. We go inside North Korea with the very few who have gained access, including a medical team (with an undercover camera) - on a miracle mission to perform cataract operations to help the blind see.

The Hermit Kingdom is widely considered the most isolated country on earth, led by a despot with a taste for the high life - and weapons of mass destruction. While most people think the Korean War ended over 50 years ago, technically, there was no armistice. A tenuous ceasefire protects booming South Korea, while the North remains on a war footing. And Kim Jong Il runs his country like a fortress prison. Real life there appears only in glimpses of propaganda or horror stories from escaped refugees. Satellite images compare night over South Korea, cities aglow, with North Korea, almost pitch black.

With no Internet, one TV channel and few other outlets to fill their time, many North Koreans funnel their energy into dances and songs that celebrate the regime. But our team is determined to see real life. They’ve finally convinced their minders to allow them to visit the home of a patient. There are no family photos in the apartment, only images of the Dear Leader. When our team asks the patient what’s the most difficult thing about being blind, her son-in-law jumps in and responds, “not being able to see the Dear Leader with her own eyes”. This extraordinary programme provides a rarely seen glimpse into this fascinating country and sheds some light on the excesses of Kim Jong II and the restricted life of his devoted citizens.”

BBC - The Last 48 Hours of Kurt Cobain

    English | Xvid | 352×288 | MP3 | 224kbps | 712.46 MB

The Last 48 Hours Of Kurt Cobain (2007, 79 min.)
Original broadcast: BBC 2, Sun, Feb. 18, 2007, 10:00 pm.
    Directed by John Dower

On April 1st, 1994, Kurt Cobain jumped over the wall of the Exodus rehab centre in Los Angeles.
On April 8th, an electrician discovered his body in his Seattle home. During those seven days,
Kurt was officially listed as a missing person.

This documentary recounts the experiences of some of the people who crossed paths with Kurt during
his final days, such as Duff Mckagan, former bassist of Guns n’ Roses, who sat next to Kurt on the
flight back to Seattle. His drug counsellor, Nial Stimson, from the Exodus rehab centre, who talks
about Kurt’s denial of his heroin addiction. As well, we hear from some of the people who knew Kurt
best, such as his grandfather, Leland Cobain, ex-Nirvana drummer, Chad Channing and ex-girlfriend,
    Tracy Marander.

This is a film about the generation of a myth and the deification of Kurt Cobain. About the eerie silence
that fell over Seattle in the days following his death, when his ghost wandered the city. Also of note,
the film does not pander to all those silly theories of a murder plot which have sprung up like weeds since
    Kurt’s death.
