Has the new Australian goverment ease the Migration rules

hi,

I gotta know that the new prime minister favours new migratnts coming to Australia?
Anyone from Australia might be able to help me in this matter. I would also like to know whether there is a high demand for the IT professinals in Australia so I can apply through the Skilled Migration scheme. Some of ma frnds who dont have relatives in Australia got PR in 4 months.

No changes has yet been made to the skilled migration programme..

The skilled migration to Australia is based on a points system. If your skill is on high demand, then you will receive 60 points (else it can be 55, 50 or 40) .. and then you get another 30 points for age (if you're under 40, i think) , then another 15 or 20 for English proficiency, another 15 or 20 for work experience etc...

Altogether you have to score 125 or 130 to be concidered..

The thing is, those point schemes change time to time.

IELTS 7 each band gives 25 point I think machang.

So to get the PR you need to have 120 points.

Each band 6 unoth only 10 or 15 I guess... ethakota 120 ganna amaarui 2 yrs study karapu kenekta. So 100 or 110 overall points walata dena TR ekata thamai apply karanna wenne.

But 3 yrs study karala thiyanawa nam 15 point denawane 3yrs nisa. So IELTS 6 gaththath athi 120 ganna machang.

Ruchira is correct about his comment AFAIK. No rule changes have been made yet by the Rudd government.

But as I know there is a huge skill shortage in IT, Accounts, Construction sectors. So there is a good chance of getting skilled migration vesa these days. Even easier to get the SIR visa status. SIR is sort of a PR. But not exactly. After working for 2 yrs in SIR status you can get the PR.

All besed on a points test and the immi.gov website which Ruchira gave gives all the details.
