This is an extremely accessible and readable introduction to Java. Other reviewers issued complaints about support materials being absent or subpar, and while I agree that even some of the included code had errors, I feel it is a credit to the authors and the huge majority of the text that I was able to discern where the problems lay, and resolve them by applying what I had learned to that point.
I am still struggling with some more (relatively) advanced topics, such as how to use packages created by other people, but that seems somewhat beyond this book's scope. I consider it a credit to the authors, again, that only about two weeks after starting with ZERO Java experience, I'm even able to form those kinds of questions and look for their answers.
