Heavy fighting erupted in Akkarayankulam in the Kilinochchi district yesterday. Military sources confirmed that the military reportedly repulsed several waves of attacks east of Akkarayankulam. They said by evening the military recovered at least eight LTTE bodies from the area. Reports said heavy casualties were reported from both sides, but there was no confirmation on the casualty figures.
