Install the 80 wire cable; then go into safe mode.
Uninstall hard disk controllers and also the hard disks (I mean in device manager). Reboot normally. See what happens![]()

At least is the hard disk detected at the POST time properly, when it is connected via the 80-wire cable? If yes, then this is a software problem.
I'm pretty sure if you reinstall Windows, it will work.
But it is the last resort, and only if you want to go through with the tediousness of reinstalling everything. Now sure if a repair install would fix it though. But worth a try, eh?
