Most popular sites with good deals (newegg, Tigerdirect etc..) don’t ship to SL and some even don’t accept non American credit cards.

I use eBay a lot for ordering small things like memory cards, Bluetooth devices (handsfree / remotes), computer memory cards, sound cards, network adapters etc.. So far so good. however, I have not ordered any single item worth more than $100.

If you buy from good genuine sellers, there is nothing to worry. You can find out trustworthy sellers by looking at their rating and feedback. And don’t always go for the cheapest item, if the price is too good to be true then chances are there is something wrong with it. If you do it right, you can find pretty good deals on eBay.
