Help!!

Hey guys I have been having this problem for the last few days.Normally I leave my p.c on at night to download stuff.But since a few days ago when I check my P.C in the morning my internet connection has been disconnected (and most of the time the download has not been completed)Does anyone know the reason for this?I am using a prolink modem to connect to ADSL and my OS is Vista Ultimate with service pack one.

Does your connection get disconnected while you are browsing the internet?

This happens sometimes because your phone line is damaged. In this case you sometimes loose the signal and after sometimes its up again. Changing the copper cable will solve this issue.

Use IDM....there is AutoDial Option if the line is Droped...


And U have the Option in Modem Settings(Connection) Also...that u can give Values and Make it Dial Auto when that Line is Droped....


So What is the Problem...???

I had a router and still i had this problem. Then I contacted SLT and those guys changed the cable.
Sometimes the telephone cables are affected by lighting and this damages the cable, so you cannot get a continuous signal.

Also if you have a Router, you never dial because the signal is always there in the line.

Thanks all for your helpful suggestions.I will borrow one of my friends routers and see if the problem continues.Anyway the line never disconnects when i am surfing.Only when I leave somthing to download.The thing is I download from torrents.is there any program for torrents that auto dials when the connection is lost?

If you are using torrents, then mayb you could use some other software to auto redial when the connection is lost. (Maybe you have the option with your modem software). Then torrent software will automatically resume the download after you get the connection again.
