Now the previous plan has been changed a bit. We will move the desktop out of my room, but it will be placed on the same floor as the laptop. So, we don't have to worry about communicate between two floors. Assuming the following implementation is correct, I guess I need to buy a "ADSL wireless router", so I can connect the desktop using an Ethernet cable & the laptop using a wireless connection. I guess, I need to buy one with "802.11n" for better performance.
