A Sri Lankan tourist was assaulted by a transgender woman armed with high heel shoes on the city’s beach road Saturday night after he daringly touched her genitals twice to verify her gender--then refused to pay or proceed with any services.

Police and rescuers from Sawangboribul Foundation were called to Soi 13/3 on Pattaya Beach Road at about 10.30pm where they found a 54-year-old Sri Lankan man, identified only as Sepala, bleeding from the head. He was treated at the scene before police took both parties to Muang Pattaya police station for further questioning.

The alleged attacker, a transwoman identified as Mintran Buran, 29, admitted to striking Mr. Sepala multiple times on the head with a high-heeled shoe. According to her statement, the tourist approached her and she told him that her service price was 2,000 baht. He then asked to touch her genitals to confirm if she was a biological woman.

“I let him touch once. But when he touched me again without paying, I became upset, and an argument broke out,” Mintran said.

"I grabbed the collar of his shirt, and he pulled mine in return, which caused a scratch on my chest. I got angry and hit him on the head four to five times with a high-heeled shoe.”

Mr Sepala told police he only wanted to verify Mintran’s gender due to uncertainty, but decided not to proceed after his “intimate touch” made him feel unconvinced.

“I cancelled the deal and was about to walk away but that person pulled the collar of my shirt from behind and hit me with the high-heeled shoe,” the Sri Lankan tourist said.

You could always ask and they wouldn't take offence. Everything in Pattaya has a cost.

Just a couple of months ago we were in Phuket. I have visited Thailand over 30 times but haven't been to Phuket after the Tsunami.
My wife booked a beach resort in Bang Tao beach for a week. as it was on a special. Four of our friends joined in too.
Bang Tao has very nice beaches, very clean and not crowded like Patong beach
Every morning at 6.30 we walk in the beach about 4 kms, firm sandy beaches and have a dip. The Andaman Sea is quite warm in the mornings too. The hotels, bars, kiosks are at least a 100m away from the shore line. Nothing is on the beach itself. Unlike in SL where hawkers and some idiots own the beach.

Every 100m you get Cannabis Shops which are open till late. I went in once , there were two girls rolling stuff, They said the prices range from 100 baht to 600 baht. She offered to roll a very low strength one just to try.

Note that everything is expensive in Phuket. More than twice the cost in Pattaya or elsewhere. But very much quieter. NIce massage places, prices vary from 200 baht (roadside walk-ins) to 1200 baht at a high end massage place. In the latter places, they wash your feet at the entrance, give a welcome tea and sweets and after the massage again tea with sweets offered. Daytime the 1200 baht places offer half-price massages.
