My last post on this website was deleted by the admins, because they were too afraid to face the truth about Pradeep Rangana's real character. As some one who knows him from the childhood, and as an active character in Sri Lanka university system, today also I'm going to post these facts. Admins can decide whether to keep them or delete them.
Pradeep won it because of the united power of university students of Sri Lanka and the emotional votes of health service sector of Sri Lanka. These are things I know, about his campaign to victory.
On 6th October, Pradeep was among the least 2 SMS getters, along with Nadini. Pradeep was in grave danger of of eliminating. On the following monday, the student union of Karapitiya Medical faculty called a special meeting to design a "election campaign" for Pradeep. Many ideas were came forward, to make him the superstar.
The immidiate action was, calling all the other student unions for support. As usual in the university sub culture, every one came forward to support their brother Pradeep.
Within 2 days, the student union of Kara medi faculty was able to collect a fund of Rs.6 lacks from the business men, in Karapitiya area and Galle town. With that money, they printed a poster for Pradeep.
All the universities around the country, supported the Kara faculty, to paste that poster across the country.
And, with the rest of the money, they purchased more than 500 Celltel, Mobitel and Hutch SIM's, just to send SMS to Pradeep.
All the medical students working on internship at government hospitals, were adviced to influence the rest of the hospital staff. Emotional appeal was "we should make some one from the healthcare sector, as the superstar".
Some of these students, registered on this website as members. (I got to know about this website, through some one like that)
They some how was able to Push Pradeep to the final
Once, Pradeep was in the final, they urged every medical student, every nurse, every attendent, and most other university students, to vote Pradeep on that important night. Noitces were pasted on canteen notice boards of every university.
Some people, arouse the religious difference between Pradeep and Suredra, in areas where majority were Budhists.
During the last week, the students of Kara faculty visited every Bio Science tution class in Matara, Tangalle, Galle and Kalutara in groups. They took 5 minutes each from every tution session, and made a speech urging "Pradeep to be the superstar". The emotional appeal was "You all are the future of Sri Lanka. You should vote some one educated, in your field of study".
On Saturday, they got to know the SLT lines are available for voting. They quickly organized, to make sure every SLT phone in government hospitals were used for voting. People working at night shifts, made that possible.
They were well organized, and they executed it to the point. And, they won.
The medical students of Kara faculty, their parents, the hospital staff, A/L bio science students were the decider of Sirasa Superstar in Season 2
