    Do you know that we had a supermountain range that dwarfed the Himalayan range, Andean range, Atlas range, or Alpine ranges? Not just one mountain range, but we had two supermountain ranges that supported the evolution. Both supermountains was located near the equator and span across Gondwana the supercontinent. Those supermountain ranges contributed enough sediment to fill the entire area of the United States to a height of 10 kilometers. This massive sediment significantly enhanced the growth and the evolution of the biosphere. Now those supermountains are gone and their peaks were eroded into sediments that enriched oceans and fueled life’s evolution. What survives are geological traces, ancient metamorphic belts, mineral signatures, and continental shields.
