Hacking is not bad as long as your intention is good one. Some experts call this PEN test (Peneration test) in linux we use a software called Nmap. If you know the target PC's IP adress using this software we can probe and see what ports are open. According to the open ports you can find a way to get into the PC. So as you can see this is not very easy but there are so many web sites offering free exploits software for this. But I'm not sure what is our guy's intention over here so he better do some his own search. I just gave you a start hoping this is for educational purpose.
Once I saw one person has upload a SQL injection how to video. That is one hacking method to penatrate the SQL database. We do that to check the security and explain those companies they have problems in their setup. Bad guys use that technology to get the data and to sell that to someone or destry the data just for the fun.

If you have physical access to the PC, you can just use a linux live CD to take all data out within minutes without any hacking practise, no matter what windows passwords it has.
This is not possible/difficult with a linux machine.

to bypass any bios passwords, short circuit the bios battery

To hack over network; i donno how. I'm yet to learn networking side.
