How to protect pdf with password?
Someone asked "How to protect pdf with password on adobe reader 9", no, we couldn't set password security with adobe reader. Adobe Acrobat Pro and other third party software could set pdf password security, protect pdf with password.

1.Open PDF With Acrobat Pro

open pdf files with adobe acrobat pro, Click "File">"Properties">"Security". Choose "Password Security" in "Security Method".

2.Set User Password

Check “Require a password to open the document”, and type a password in the “Document Open Password” field. This password will be required when open the PDF document.

3. Set Owner Password

Choose “Restrict editing and printing of the document”, and type a password in the “Change Permission Password” filed. This password will protect PDF from copying, editing or printing.

Note:
1.The Document Open and Permissions Passwords cannot be the same.
2.Remember your Password.
3.If you forgot the password, AST pdf password remover or AST pdf password recovery could help you remove pdf password or recover pdf password.

4. Save Password Protected PDF

Click “OK”, and save the password protected pdf. The PDF file is successfully locked now.
