CDMA's got good overall connection speed... not really sure about the exact speed though.. 230kbpz is good speed i should say..

dude what ya could do is to use a download accelerator such as Flashget etc. for ya downloads and optimize ya MTU settings via using an external program.. there are plenty o programs out there on the net which helps in tweaking your internet connections so as to gain every bit of performance...

@ Crazylife - Dialog starting broadband??!!!

Cz Malaysian Telecom has got some authority wit the Sea-ME-WE Project 4.so now SLT cannot do anythin to prevent'em fr giving broadband access.well...I hope do somethin more than SLT.

and yeah SLt can giv IP-TV but I dont knw wat the heck why they cant do that,if they did sure we can watch TV-online[in Higher bit-rate]

itz simple marketing man.. dese bastard merely wantz more people to use the slower speeds at a comparatively higher cost so dat dey could earn enough income.. this could be attributed to why insufficient b/w is given to da people and also dere inefficiency in operation.. their call centers prove it lmao..

ya sure dialog gonna land broadband here? til then i feel we ll be stuck with these speeds but hmmm... slt will have good leverage as their connections are provided via da existin phone line cabling.. but i guess dialog would have to either implement a wireless (radio) based broadband internet connection which would require us to buy a freakin receptor else they/we have to pay for cablin to get the appropriate cablin which would result in higher costs.. which 1 dya think man?

Ya machan I'm sure about that.Dialog gonna start broadband internet.and I heard that SLt gonna give high-speed internet within Colombo city-limits.oh they are VDSL ready.bu dont knw whether they are capable to handle that much of speeed 52MBPS!!!!,Amazing 'eh? they can giv it via the existing phone line only to 1000Ft from the exchange[I'm lucky in that case] and others have to pay for the cabling. And do you know thta SLT is giving broadband to Maldives too??

I too heard bout a rumour that SLT is gonna double the speeds.. I doubt whether they ll offer anything more than 8-10 Mbps to the public.. they are not really customer-friendly oriented.. VDSL aint reliable though.. speeds are not guaranteed unlike ADSL (to a certain extent lmao).. but this shit distance limit is the freakin prob.. i ve not heard bout SLT giving ADSL to maldives .. ya sure bout this shit? cuz the SEAMEA cable passes SL n easily could b implemented in Maldives too with proper cabling.. that is unless there aint no reputed or stable phone company over dere..
