yep we use some advance techniques. Our main servers are running on Ubuntu servers.

They used to run on Unix.
Debian or Centos ( or Fedora ) or FreeBSD are the preferred server platforms. Ubuntu is essentially a Desktop platform and not the most suited for production servers.
