I have been troubled for two days by this error & couldn't find any usefull assistance to get rid of it from the web itself though I searched for assistance in depth. So I though I should post this thread that some1 would be benefitted by this someday.

Here's what happens:

You will be able to surf internet, but won't be able to log into any secure website.
(such as Yahoo mail, hotmail or other sites uses ID and PASSWORD to log into )You will be able to view the index of a site but U can't log into it using ur ID & password. When U try to, U will get the offline IE page saying "PAGE CAN NOT BE DISPLAYED ". yet U can surf other sites. Wierd ha!!! Its true, for some reason U may experience this.

I have tried so many things that U wouldn't imagine. But will tell U in brief what to do .

Step by step :

1. This might caused due to adware ( kind of virus, not exactly). Therefore first of all using a reliable adware removal software clean your computer out of adwares in safe mode.
( If U don't how to go into safe mode; Restart ur computer and when the
BIOS screen or start-up screen arrives press F8 key in ur keyboard randomly
time to time one press at a time.don't hold on pressing)

If don't have a reliable adware remover try this site; (since the u can surf other sites u will be able to download as well.)

www.lavasoft.com/

2. After confirming that all the adware are cleaned ;
open IE and in menu bar click "Tools", " Internet Options" ," Delete cookies".

3. Then go to "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator (or the ur computer name) \"

4. Then select the address bar and at the end of the "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\ " copy and paste the following text:
"Local Settings\Temp\Temporary internet files\Content.IE5\"

5. The full path on the address bar should be then as follows:
" C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local
Settings\Temp\Temporary internet files\Content.IE5\ "
6. U will find some folder within as well and delete all the files within those folders , but don't delete the folders.

7. Restart the computer and try to log into a secure website such as Yahoo mail, hotmail or other site uses a password to log into.

8. If U still can't log in, using ur WinXP bootable cd repair ur windows. or if U have WinXP on ur computer as a copy run the setup and install XP as an "Upgrade". Don't worry u'll not have to loose ur precious documents since it will only repair or upgrade, but not format or delete ur system.
( if u have any problems using XP bootable cd see the attachment)

That will do it !!!:nerd:
Gud luck :D !!!
