Reducing the dependency on the west is not just dropping their tech, it's about dedollarizing the economy, moving away from the US dollar as a reserve currency. Both Russia and China are in the process of doing this right now.

Do you deny that a Chinese company didn't pay for Rajapaksa's election campaign? Didn't the Chinese company who built the Hambanthota harbor say that only USD900 million cost to build the harbor but they paid the Rajapaksa government USD1400 million or something?

I can see that they found a willing hora family that can be bribed to get what they wanted from a strategic location like us. They offered so many loans for projects that could not generate any revenue to pay back the said loans like nelum kuluna, knowing that their hora family will only look for the commissions & nothing else. High interest loans, that has no rules, conditions, checks or followups.. Just the kind of loans Rajapaksa family was looking for so that they could Rob half of it without any issue knowing the lender would look they other way
