Microsoft Windows Movie Maker is a powerful and practical video editing application. The accepted formats for import are .WMV/.ASF, .MPG (MPEG-1), .AVI (DV-AVI), .WMA, .WAV, and .MP3. Additionally, the Windows Vista Home Premium and Ultimate editions of Movie Maker support importing MPEG-2 Program streams and
DVR-MS formats.

DVD Ripper Ultimate can be used as a DVD to Windows Movie Maker software. You can rip DVD to AVI-Audio-Video-Interleaved (*.avi), DVD to WMV-Windows-Media-Video (*.wmv), DVD to ASF-Advanced-Video-Format (*.asf), DVD to MPEG-1 Movie (*.mpg), DVD to MPEG-2 Movie (*.mpg).

Tutorial: How to import DVD Movies to Windows Movie Maker AVI and Edit them in WMM?
Step 1: Free download the trial version of DVD to WMM, install and
launch it on your computer.
Step 2: Locate your DVD Movie to the program then you will see the detail DVD information shown on the main interface like below.

Step 3: Select the output video profile by click the drop down list. Specify destination for saving your video by click Browse button.

Note: You can do some video settings before ripping DVD movie.
A: You can trim any segment of DVD movie by click clip icon.
B: Click effects button, you can crop video area size, add watermark to video, adjust subtitle, and apply video effect.
Step 4: Finally, hit start ripping button to begin ripping DVD movie to AVI.
