for hells sake... Bible was written 300 years after jesus's death by the then political regime (Mainly the 'ecumenical councils')... they chose the things they wanted to form a religion ( A business model) that will be sustainable..

if you realy want to learn what Jesus actually said go & read the Gnostic & the Dead Sea scrolls..there are only a very few remaining as the newly formed church hunted & burnt everything that was a threat to their newly formed religion..but Translated copies are there in the net...

the actual teachings of Jesus was far more cloer to Budhism..there was no concept of a church or a hierarchical church struicture like now...they explicitly burned every scroll because those teaching was more person & nature based.. (Yes..Nature based)

ever imagine why things like "Attending church is compulsory every Sunday" is in our religion for ? To get people to come to church & donate money..u seriously think that the people who made these rules didnt giv serious thought to this ? they were shrewed fucking business people man,..so of course they made everything possible to sustain this business of religion for as long as possible...:)

just think about it..other than the humans themselves..what has survived almost everything up to now for so long ? Religion bro...u know why ? by making rules like "You should attend church every Sunday..or its a deadly Sin".... or "You should attend Mosq every Friday or else.." (Sorry I dont know the equivalent of r punishment for not attending church for the Muslims..but I bet there is one.. :))

anyways..you are welcome to search all those things I have said above...you'll know that Everything I have said above is FACT !!!..you can find them by doing a small research..good luck

c'mon dude you may be so intellect and may be even a genius
    but careful, careful brother.
you are doubting lords word plus arguing.
you may have other beliefs referring my religion hence you may have read books which question the credibility about bible.
    but dude.
    it is bible
it is the word of lord
    careful dude.

Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"

He said to them, "This is what the LORD commanded: 'Tomorrow is to be a day of rest, a holy (Sunday)Sabbath to the LORD. So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.' "

Isaac newton being gay dsnt justify anything, you make it sound like you have to be gay to be famous.there might have been few who were gay but to say many is like saying they have to be gay to be able to contribute.

homosexuality was considered a mental disease in the US up until 1973,until they found out how much sex sells and the sexual revolution started. Homosexuality is not nature its nurtured! Its not a proven scientific fact . Even animals dont display this sort of behaviour !

Personally i know we all here have a dad and a mom and thank goodness for that ! Can you imagine the fabric of society if that was to change !

Just because it is legal in the west dsnt mean the world has to follow like idiots !
Look at the society there, almost the entire society is uder depression !

No, it doesn't 'justify' anything-I was responding to some people's view that homosexuals are mentally retarded. Apart from their sexual orientation they are just like the rest of us.
Animals do display homosexual activity. Specially the primates.
It was considered a disease by the west until 70's-so were left handedness, having a child out of wedlock etc. I think the west has more restrictions because of Christian influence-Eastern religions are more tolerant. :P

Homosexuality didn't start after the 70's. Alexander the great was gay. Even Buddha has spoken about gays-it's banned for monks. (And talking about sexuality 2500 yrs back, Kosala Mallika had sex with a dog once!)These things are not new and not from the west. It has been there in all societies.
Legalizing homosexuality is not a cause of depression lol. In US homosexuality is not legal in many states yet, but incidence of depression has been high for decades. It's something to do with competitiveness, harsh life events etc.
Just because some 10-30% people were gay, it wouldn't depopulate this world. The majority are heterosexual and they will go on reproducing. And you will have a mother and a father in your next life, don't cry.
They are contributing to lower the world population so that your kids will have more room on earth. Did you think of that?

    true
    very true
for that reading bible is enough for myself
even in the buddhism, muslim judaism there r cross references
but no one in that religion is care to complain them
because we dont care at all
all we care is the good part in which our religion taught us, and the good part which we have to learn
and that's enough for me rather than dwelling the credibility
that's my point of following my religion
    you might not know me,
i myself don't go to the church on sunday
only occasionally (IE - Christmas, easter sunday, maundy thursday)
    that doesn't mean i ain't a true catholic
i just follow jesus christ his work and his influence and his teachings and that is enough for me
i don't want to spend hours in the church praying endlessely.
i just care his teachings, his work, his influence and the word of lord

    Numbers 15:32-36

32While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.33Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,34and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him.35Then the LORD said to Moses, “The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp.”36So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.

see i told you there are cross references in the bible
not just in the bible in other religions as well
Historians have said lord buddha himself had never come to sl.
    but does it really matter?
Don't thousands of pilgrimages are being payed to adams peak every year?
    don't people go to mahiyanganaya?
    naga deepaya?
the one who questions the credibility of a religion isn't following any religion
    as i said earlier
    it's all matters the FAITH

At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath."

He answered, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread—which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests. Or haven't you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent? I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, they asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"

He said to them, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

you talk about faith and you don't seem to think gay ppl have faith in what they too..they might have faith in what they feel you know.

Even in the animal world, some are born as straight while some are gay.

Human are the same I guess. Some have heterosexual feelings while some have homosexual feelings.

It should be a personal choice. So what India did was correct from my perspective because of 2 reasons.

    1. Laws should not interfere with extremely personal matters - It's individual choice.
    2. It is good to get rid of Colonial laws as an independent country.

Homosexuality might not be a 'good' thing from a religious perspective. But it is unacceptable to talk a social and a legal issue with religion.

What India did was just saying OK to what people did secretly.
Nobody will become gay because of this change and no body will become straight if they are gay either. This is just a step to say it's OK, we treat Gay and Straight the same way - now you don't need to hide. Which is a good thing from a humanitarian point of view.
