Intel Prices Q9550 at $316, Intros Four New 45nm Processors

Following the official name scheme confirmation of the Nehalem processors, Intel today also slashed the price of its Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2.83 GHz) CPU by a massive 40% from $530 to $316 in 1000-unit tray quantities. In addition Intel introduced today four new CPUs.

• Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz 3MB L2 cache - $133
• Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33GHz 6MB L2 cache - $266
• Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 (45nm) 2.66GHz 1333MHz FSB 6MB L2 cache - $266
• Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 (45nm) 3.0GHz 12MB L2 cache - $576

Later on, Intel will release a third Core 2 Quad processor, the Q8200 CPU working at 2.33GHz.

Happy news for CPU buyers.They keep getting low and low.

Yep machan.If the softs are not optimized for quads,you will see a huge margin.Again if they are optimized for quads u will have a huge margin leading quad.I say get a quad.Softs tend to be getting newer versions and upgrades.CPUs not.

These are not yet here.And some of them never will Have someone to bring in them here.Anyway with the customers are getting knowledgble and smarter,Unity fools cant do the same old now.So I think @least Barclays will import these.Just wait n see.After 2-3 months they will be here if they are coming here.Price will be like US price +2000 LKR.Note that these are 1000 tray quantity prices.
