How can 2xQX9770 be slower than 1 single QX9770? Even with DDR 667? For a program like 3ds max.....3D max will love 4 more cores more than DDR 2 1066 memory.....

Not two! That's why I said: "Unless you equip it with two processors..."

Still, in games, QX9770 is faster, because there isn't any game which even utilizes 4-cores well

Well, not really...Only 50% boost over the single CPU setup.
That x264 encoder showed 80-85% boost. That's what you call, "loving it"!

You are missing the point!

1. 50% more performance is not bad at all, but not really great either. That's of course not the problem with the platform (most of the times). But I wouldn't call an app is loving the 100% more cores, when it only gives 50% more performance. What are you gonna call an app which gives 80-90% boost? (maybe like: holy smoking sh*t, that software is having a ride on the bed with the CPUs )

2. At least the PentiumD 820 is not SLOWER than the 2.8GHz 520, right? But not the case here, is it? (again, not the problem with the CPUs mind you)
