For a country as small as this..... this is huge! and indeed it show how much our country dependent on rice from ancient times, we Sri Lankans even exported rice those days <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/lol.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":lol:" title="LOL    :lol:" data-shortname=":lol:" /> So in the humble beginnings of Sri Lanka COW was the centric point if there were no COWS there's no rice, we milked them, we used them as transport, even their  excrements were used as fertilizers... the new technology now changed everything and the animal once was too precious too be eaten soon became meat in Sri Lanka! I think its something personal... depends on individual... if any animal in the history of Sri Lanka helped Sri Lanka to grow its the COW.. if you can respect that and spare the Animal then that's the simplest of ways we as Sri Lankans can pay our tribute to this once precious Animal! You don't need religion to figure that out!</blockquote>
