Sorry about the late reply.. I was quite busy with things! Anyway here we go.. I know, Juz kidding there! ;) 1st of all I guess I missed an important word in my previous reply.. sorry about that.. Buddhism sees things in 2 different perspective... 1. Mind 2. Matter the 4 elements I mentioned refer to matter, NOT mind.. It is said in Buddhism Mind and Matter is when it comes to living beings.. Matter is Body which holds your Mind in it! When your body cannot support it self anymore, it dies and Mind will have to find yet another matter to link to! How does Mind get released from the body? or into the body? no one knows! But Mind only can unleash it powers as far as matter allows it to... Ex: New-Born children will not have the ability to learn as fast as a grown ups! In science this may explain as the chemical reactions or work of neurons and stuff! Except that Science cannot prove what happens after death and what exactly is mind, apart from the chemical reaction theory.. I don't see how Buddhism oppose it.. Because Science has proven matter and Buddhism adds Mind to it.. yet not yet proven by Science to the fullest extent! Science see Mind through Matter.. Buddhism see a mind with & without matter (without: this only happens after death) So in Buddhism this Mind is called Bhavanga-Sotha this is said to be the element they refer to as what separates from the physical matter when it get destroyed! Ever heard a saying called "Mind over Matter"? this actually comes to my mind because as Buddhism suggests, as long as we have a matter bound to a Mind we have survival instincts.. even though our mind is capable of archiving greater heights (Nirvana) our fondness to entertain matter (body) is a great barrier to it, and the irony is its true potential too can be unleashed only through a matter (Body), and this what LORD BUDDHA taught... HOW TO USE IT TO UNLEASH THAT TRUE POTENTIAL!!! And Lord Buddha said, This is what you can achieve with what you have!! So if you want you can go for it... else... Dont just fool around... live your life well... and he taught how to do that too! So the ultimate decision is yours! So Mind over matter in a proper way is ALWAYS ENCOURAGED!:) No probs! :) Yes! true! even Lord Buddha kept quiet when he was asked by someone, "how big is this universe".. as a matter of fact he even classified 14 of those kind of questions which are unanswerable! And we gotta admit that every religion has those kind of questions, and I personally think most of these questions have little or no effect to what we expect from a religion! :)
