But is that a reason to accept everything foreign media reports? Do they get it right all the time?

Don't misinterpret this thread for being against foreign media, the intent of the thread is to convey a message that no media is perfect, even the BIG SHOTS looks silly at times!

CNN NEWS! Two Random Somali Pirates Vow Revenge!

CNN uses this image for its article that exclaims two Somali men vow revenge! CNN's caption: "France launched a military operation to free French citizens held by pirates on a yacht called the Tanit." It is notable that the two non-CNN journalist sources (who interviewed the two "pirates") and their news organization employers, are all unnamed by CNN.

What backs up this claim? Is there a pirates' union speaking out? Is there a statement from a pirate leader or from a press release or pirate flack? Apparently not.

Reuters Mis-Captioned Photos

The bottom Reuters photograph is mis-captioned, according to blogger Bob Owens. The bottom photo shows a defensive flare being launched; whereas the top image shows an offensive missile being fired. Matt from VA, a commenter on Owens blog cites AP, another media outlet, as able to get the difference between flares and missiles right. Then why can't Reuters also get it right? According to Owens, such errors illustrate Reuters bias.

BBC apologises over 'hoax' meerkat report

So there you go... if you rely on Foreign media thinking that its getting you what Pachavahini and ITN is not giving... THINK AGAIN!

Ofcourse most of the time there's no way for you to find out what exactly is truth and what's not.. but there's no harm keeping in mind that..
