Guys if I bring down iPhone 13 from overseas , how do I register through TRCSL and how long it will take com complete the registration process. Please advise.

Custom tax = 10%
You need to have receipts, and an Import control licence (Google this and call them).

If you are going to ask the most FAQ "What if this was sent as a Gift?" It does not do anything, still you have to pay taxes and give reasonings.

you also need to have an import license? isn't trc sufficient? import license is ridiculous, and should be only entitled to having an trc approval.

I do not make rules, unfortunately!
Maybe now the situation is different, once your item is retained by the customs you will be asked to provide those details. I ordered an m1 macbook air for my brother and they did not ask for an Import Control Licence.

I don't think it's right to get an import license for a laptop, was the M1 cheap? I hate being in Sri lanka now, things are more expensive and not worth being here.

I spent around 175K on the brand new M1 Air (256GB version with 8GB RAM with the student Discount from Malaysia) and for fedex it was around 17K. Paid custom tax around 7K.

good job, you were able to save around 30,000, how do you claim student discount whilst your in Sri Lanka?
