I doubt that, as far as I know no other phone can beat iPhone 3GS in terms of audio quality,
BTW, how is your 5800XM doing :D
    earpiece still working ?

Here is a good audio quality test comparison between iPhone 3G and some other phones including N97. You can see that frequency response of N97 is better and it performs almost equal in all other tests except in IMD noise test. In anycase, to hear a difference with these numbers you have to be an extreme audiophile using $150+ earphones; which I’m sure many of us are not. Therefore I don’t see much of a point in buying a mediocre smartphone like an iPhone for a negligible audio quality difference (which many of us won’t even notice).

Yes the ear piece is working fine, AFAIK that earpiece problem was fixed by Nokia for phones sold after January of this year.

Dude! I'm talking about 3GS not the old 3G, it bests N97 in all aspects,,

You are missing my point. Ok according to those benchmarks 3GS has better audio quality, but the real question is can you really hear the difference?? I’m sure an average person with sub $50 earphones will not hear the difference. And can you really weigh that marginal difference against rest of the features of a phone like N97?? Its not like N97 has terrible audio quality, IMO its pretty good on its own.

I didn't miss you point, I'm just pointing out about the Audio quality that your 2nd post was about, Whether you can hear the difference or not depends on your ears, :)

If you overanalyze every minute detail and blow up the scale I’m sure you can even show that there are measurable differences in audio quality between different iphones of the same model. But in reality these microscopic differences are not worth considering... Thats all I'm saying. ;)

ok, Maybe I was wrong to say there are better phones out there (although there could be some untested phones having better audio quality, who knows.. :P). But I still standby the statement that phones like N97 are equal in audio quality.
