No, I've read some articles that recommend eating chicken skin too. since the skin has healthy oils. However, keep in mind that cholesterol does not only come from meat products. the human body can generates a substantial amount of cholesterol that is used to generate enzymes, hormones, etc. Cholesterol is a building block of those molecules. So maintain a healthy level of cholesterol, keep checking those once in a while, and eat healthy.

Chicken can be part of a healthy diet, even if you're watching your cholesterol. Here's a breakdown:
    • Chicken itself contains cholesterol:1 Like all animal products, chicken naturally has cholesterol.2 However, it's not as high as some other meats.3
    • It's the saturated fat that's the bigger issue: Saturated fat is what can really raise your cholesterol levels.4 Chicken, especially the skin, has saturated fat.5
    • Choose wisely:
      • Skinless chicken breast is the leanest option with the lowest cholesterol and saturated fat.
      • Dark meat (thighs, legs) has more saturated fat and cholesterol than breast meat.
      • Avoid fried chicken: Frying adds extra saturated fat and calories.6
    • Preparation matters:
      • Baking, grilling, or roasting are the healthiest ways to cook chicken.
      • Limit added fats like butter or oil.7
    Here's a quick comparison:
    Chicken PartSaturated Fat (grams)Cholesterol (milligrams)
    3 oz skinless chicken breast175
3 oz chicken thigh with skin385
Overall: If you enjoy chicken, you don't necessarily have to give it up completely if you have high cholesterol. Opt for lean cuts, remove the skin, and prepare it in a healthy way.
