DUDE
thses peopl think
medicine is like god kind of thing
but today
who get most accusations?
most bad things
like the 3 doctorts who helped LTTE and sent false info about army/
like saying lies about the thermal scanner at the airport
like grossly neglecting some paticnes
nd because of there negetions some poeple had died
like cutting the left ear for right year
shitma thamay
anyway it is good they lost
3) As for the story about the 3 "doctors" who helped the LTTE calling themselves DMO's for Mulaitivu district, the secreatary for health Dr athula Kahandaliyanage confirmed that there are no medical practitioners with those names registered with the medical council as they claimed further that there were no DMO's of anysort residing in those areas..out of those 3 'doctors" only 1 was having a recognised MBBS degree while the rest were just LTTE fellows calling themselves doctors after undergoing 1 1/2 years illegally at the Jaffna hospital who had ultimately forced the other qualified doctor to make up & relase those stories probably at gun point..so no need i beleive to waste more time & waste more space in this thread about this misinformation...
4) your allegations about "grossly neglecting patients"
The reason for medical practitioners( I do not like to use the layman's term "doctors" for med practitioners as now even mervin silva is addressed as "DR" mervin silva, bringing disrespect to that term) is because its the single profession which is close to the day to day activities of the people.can you recall the last time you went to visit an engineer,an architect,a lawyer or god forbid....a molecular biologist who according to some, are more important than doctors...
But if you recall well,i'm sure most of you or your relatives whould have visited a doctor a minimum 6-7 times per year (or more).
So most people expect doctors to be like machines & are obliged to see them when ever they come to them, even in the middle of the night or even when the doc is having his lunch after having a hectic day from morning in a hospital...well my friend, this is a very wrong impression about docs as we are as human as you are in everysense..
No... we are not vessanthara's to donate money to each & everytime somefellow come up with a collection sheet for wesak dansal or some building project in a nearby temple or church...
No..we are not machines to spend the only 1/2 hour we get during working hours to have some B'fast+ lunch & to relax a while instead of having to treat any patient coming in their own free time or to explain the patients conditions to relatives when they come to visit them in the hospital...its so ironic that some selfish people who can't go without their evening tea & biscuit, complaining about the doctor not being in the ward to take care of the patients & to explain the disease condition to the relatives in the only break they get for the day after sometimes having continous working shifts for 36 hours straight..
No..not only you, even we have families we have to spend time with & relax with after a hard day's work instead of spending our whole lives in a hospital.
yeah...even we need to sleep in the night just like u'll ,so stop complaining that the doc is not in the ward & is sleeping in his quarters
yes ...we do get angry & shout at ppl(mostly pt's relatives) if they try to irritate us unduly & heckle us & question our treatment methods after seing some rubbish in some e-medicine website...cos of the simple fact that we are also human & have not(yet) attained enlightenment like lord buddha or sainthood....
yes...if you park in my parking spot in the hospital(which clearly states that it's "reserved for doctors only" in clear bold lettering) I'll get irritated & shout at the idiot who can't read..instead of finding another parking space of park my car by the side of a road...
so if all the people can understand these plain simple facts & realities about doctors instead of trying to expect the unexpectable, all these allegations will stop..Till then..accusations will flow freely against doctors & many more...
it is said that knowing only a little bit is more dangerous than Not knowing at all..
I hope i made my case here
