Police uncovers parcel containing live ammunition - Colombo
Police personnel during a search patrol conducted in the Boralla area, Colombo have found a parcel containing live ammunition around 10.30 last night (November 6), said the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS).
The ownerless parcel has been found on a byroad in font of N.M. Perera memorial centre at Kotta Road, the MCNS added. The police have uncovered 48 ammo used for SLR riffles, 28 pistol ammo (9mm), three T-56 ammo, 12 ammo of 84s weapons, four empty cases of shotguns and two detonators inside the parcel.
No suspect has been arrested in connection with discovery. Police conducts further investigations.
