A former Magistrate of Galle and Additional District Judge Shyamini Mirinchi Aaratchchi was sentenced to 45 years imprisonment and a Rs.60,000 fine by Matara High Court Judge P. Padman Surasena on three counts relating to committing a fraud by changing documents relating court fines on or around March 8, 2000. The sentence would be extended by a further 28 months in default of the payment of fine.[/FONT]
