Is this true about AntiVirus programs?

I heard this rumor about antivirus programs today.

Is it true that different AntiVirus programs are good at different regions??

Like some people say that Norton is the best AntiVirus for people who use internet in countries near China but it's not the same for those connecting from USA or Europe.

I find this a little hard to believe myself i mean no matter where we connect from we are browsing the same web pages and the same viruses ne??

I'm really confused. I need to hear from you.

well, there can be some truth involved. bcoz the web sites u visit is different according to culture of your country, so what AV best suit for you also can be different.

but we are not visiting different webpages! mostly people browse pages written in English so I don't think it varies according to culture.

coz.. China is using Web Filtering which can prevent many phishing and sites which contains spywares and trojans.... well so this makes the Anti Virus suits for regions according to their features. Maybe Norton is supporting for Web Filtering and stuff..

no, it depends on what pages, for example people lives in UK, US regularly goes to sites like BBC, CNN where SL people goes to local sites mostly. So its different, even if it's English content is different

I am living a world with full of new viruses. So I have no other exception than KIS. When I submit a new virus to Kaspersky lab, they make new updates with 12 hours. But for Norton you have wait more than couple of weeks.

I haven't heard about this but if you want to find which virus scanner is the best , you can check on VB 100 list .
