Aren't you the one who posted a thread about what will happen to people whom will not follow Allah's way? Do you remember what you posted? I sure do... you were kind enough to explain all the torture that Allah will give to non-Muslims on the judgment day!!

I have a lot of respect for Buddhism, but before being a Buddhist I'm a human being, and a Sri Lankan... so I'm not a 100% True Buddhist, but that doesn't stop me from admiring Buddhism for what it is, it seems the most logical religion of all, there's no doubt about it!

To answer your question, Nibbana is not a state that you can archieve overnight its a process of many many many years as told by Lord Buddha, so we are all.. whether we like it or not is in the journey, sooner or later we will choose to enter the path and dedicate ourselves to it... the people whom decided that way are the ones whom you see now as monks, so my time will come like them one fine day I'll understand the nature of things and commit myself to the middle path!

My life is not over yet, so I may or may not commit myself in this life time who knows only time will tell!

While Q'ran says wife beating is OK, people know from deep down it is not OK!

People in their hearts know what is in Quran is not acceptable, but they cannot deny it either since it is from GOD. so they make compensatory arguments trying to white wash the bad verses of quran by

1. bringing in other verses from quran
(which only proves their are condratictions in quran)
2. quote Hadith
( which is not accepted as quran by some muslim scholars)
3. By giving general interpretations of their own
( unknowingly challenging quranic view)

mate, theres no muslim women in this forum married or non-married. if you really want to know how these things happen best way is to talk to a women whose married to a muslim.we guys are mostly not married and think of marriage and women with our own ideas.

How can you say it is not practical when there's so many people such as MONKS devoted their lives to Buddhism!

As for me, it is my personal decision, and Buddhism doesn't really stop from guiding you to Nibbana... Nibbana can be considered as the distant goal, But Buddhism teaches you how to live your life till then, like in the "Singalovada Sutra" for example where Lord Buddha explains how to maintain a good behavior while you decide to enter the path to attain Nibbana!

So Buddhism has explained both paths, not extremism... the middle path, that is why it is flexible... and in Buddhism flexibility is in your own hands! Because if you decide to achieve Nibbana sooner than others your behaviors must also be changed accordingly this is the nature of things, so don't compare the 2 separate path and try to measure flexibility with regards to each other... they are indeed 2 different things!
