Japan is considered to be one of the most secular countries in the world and religious discrimination is considered to be human right violation.

Life of Mohamed Rasullulah (Peace be upon him ) was translated into Japanese in 1870, The large Tokyo mosque was completed in 1938, they have over forty mosques in the country. Japanese Muslim league was founded in 1930. Turks are the largest Muslim community in Japan and they are there over a 100 years. Ethnic Japanese who are converted to Islam is over 60000 and foreign Muslims are between 70000-100000 obviously some are on visas and work permits, but it is unlikely that the Turks who migrated over 100 years ago are still on work permits or visas. They have to be Japanese citizens. There is no restriction of talking about religion in Japan.

The Constitution provides for freedom of religion, and other laws and policies contributed to the generally free practice of religion.
The Government generally respected religious freedom in practice. There was no change in the status of respect for religious freedom by the Government during the reporting period.
