Well, there is a a little amount of books written on these topics because, Java Desktop app development is not much popular over its server-side usage.

I have got a couple of books. You may get started with them. And I really do not know how updated they are. So, Official Java tutorial from Oracle would be a good starting point too. I hope APIs are not changed much over time!
