The reason for java to be popular as mobil markert it open it's specification to comment and managed to the open committie. like request for comments.( something called a community process ). so the other companies like Nokia , Sony Errision and ..... can take the advantage and introduce their own ideas and make it a independent among the vendors. I think that's the reason J2ME is so much popular today. Yes There are powerful technologies than J2ME for the mobil world. But the popular one is J2ME.and there are political problems also.for a example for the iPhone Steve jobs take a long time to include Flash lite to the iPhone environment. Because their native applications will loose the markert. But I think now they somehow include that.so the mobil technology is like that ! It's very dynamic and no one can say this will be the best after a one year !</blockquote>
