PCJT is the secret to reach the unseen high salaried IT Job market

All IT job seekers, advance level exam completers, undergraduates and graduates who are interested in the field of software development are eagerly looking forward to become a professional software engineer or developer. At the same time parents of those are also waiting until their beloved ones become professionals in this newly upcoming computer job market with high scale salaries and other benefits. The main reason for this is because they all know IT professionals are respected by the society and at the same time their monthly salaries are above the salary levels of same aged and experienced non professionals in all the other fields.

In this phenomenon, having a clear idea about the professionalism relevant to software development is very important. Basically, a professional software engineer should have three major components. Those are methodical theoretical knowledge earned with a recognized theory certification, software development skill developed through a practical training and experience gained through developing software solutions for real business entities.

What are the qualifications available in Information Technology? Qualifications are mainly in two categories; academic qualifications and professional qualifications. Basically any university around the globe focuses mainly on academic qualifications especially in the field of information technology. There is nothing wrong in that because universities exist for the purpose of disseminating the universal knowledge in a particular field. Ethically a university has no right to focus only on one subject in the IT field, being majority of the IT subjects belongs to private companies. For instance, a university cannot focus only on Microsoft’s Visual Basic subject to produce professionals in that particular subject. University education needs to cater to all other programming subjects also, equally, to create a non biased environment for all subject content providers. Due to this situation, universities are limited to train students only for academic qualifications. Having academic qualifications alone is not sufficient to succeed or at least to survive in the IT job market. At least to get into the first job, having academic qualifications is not sufficient today.
Having a Professional qualification is the solution for this situation. PCJT stands for Professional Certificate in Java Technology. Information Technology interested parents and students both can gain complete benefit of knowing the advantages of PCJT professional qualification only when they have a capacity to compare PCJT qualification with academic qualifications in the field of information technology.

PCJT focuses only to specialize a student for the Java subject, which is the world’s most updated programming language and technology. Java is the programming language used by NASA for Mars exploration satellite and Mars Rover mission. Not only that, but Java is the programming language for future mobile devices like mobile phones and PDA computers. The upcoming mCommerce market will be driven based on Java Technology.

PCJT syllabus will be covered in two semesters. The syllabus contains all three major areas which are practical, theory and experience to become a real professional in the Java J2SE knowledge area. In the first semester, the practical software development project is developed with a real business client for students to get the industry placement experience and the exposure. The other major component of the first semester is the architectural design project for ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) application. In the second semester of the PCJT program, students are trained to sit for the internationally recognized examination delivered by the Sun Microsystems USA (SCJP) who is the owner of the Java programming language. This certification is accepted for USA Visa purposes too.

At the end of the PCJT program, students are specialized in J2SE area in Java technology and they become professionals in Java technology.

Specialization of a particular subject and getting professional qualifications is important not only in information technology, but also for accounting, law, marketing and other fields too. Java field is special because it pays very high salaries for qualified professionals. In Sri Lanka there is a huge trend in acquiring Java based professional qualifications before acquiring any academic qualifications just after the Advance Level. Can make a prediction that this trend will lead to a dramatic soft technology development in Sri Lanka in the near future. Visit www.ijts.net for more information on Java Technology in Sri Lanka. Hi all,
Im a new to this forum. anyway, i saw these comments posted by you guys, and thought of writing something as some of you seemed to have some doubts abt it.
I was one of the students in the PCJT batch 3 of IJTS. Actually the PCJT training program is targeted at making you a Software Developer in Java. thats wat those ppl at ijts say and i guess they keep their promise. so anyone who has a real passion to be a software developer should go there. thats what i personally feel, cos they really guide you towards that. anyway, I report you decide.
    contact me for any queries.

    PCJT - IJTS - Sunday Times 23 August 2009

IJTS - Revolutionizing the IT training in Sri Lanka
In the field of Information technology studies in Sri Lanka, the current trend is diverting to specialization of a carefully selected single subject. In Sri Lanka, few years back this specialization towards one strong subject was limited to a few number of rich students. They selected a special subject in IT to specialize after the graduation. For them to specialize or master a selected special subject they had to undergo overseas training.

Asanka Madavi Wisidagama, the CEO of the
    Java Institute of Sri Lanka
During the BSc. programme, students learnt the basics of a number of subjects and later they selected one field to master. Now this trend is dynamically changing with the availability of training in Java Technology in Sri Lanka. Today the majority of the Information Technology interested students' community in Sri Lanka is waiting to finish their Advance Level examination to learn Java Technology, prior to their undergraduate studies.
There is no argument about Java Technology, that it is the best high-tech programming language currently available in the world. It is a privilege for a student to master Java Technology even after the graduation, as Java Technology facilitates a Java Professional to enter into the high end job market meeting the knowledge and skill level up to the international requirements and with high scale salaries.
IJTS - The Institute of Java and Technological Studies Sri Lanka is the organization which revolutionized the traditional IT education mechanism in Sri Lanka. The technically skilled staff of IJTS managed to introduce highly advance soft technologies to students prior to their graduate studies even just after advanced level. IJTS train students for international standards certifying them with internationally recognized professional examinations from USA. Students are trained both practically and theoretically, giving industrial experiences as major parts of the training programmes.
