Unidentified armed persons attacked the residence of a JVP Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) member, and torched a party of General (retd.) Sarath Fonseka in two separate incidents at Minuwangoda and Divulapitiya yesterday.
A JVP spokesperson said that the first incident took place at Udugampola Galpatha Junction when and armed gang raided the home of JVP Ps member Anil Munaweera causing extensive damage to property. However no one was hurt in the incident.
In the second incident suspected government-goons torched a propaganda office belonging to the opposition’s common candidate General (retd.) Sarath Fonseka at Veediyawatte Junction in the Divulapitiya police area, the spokesperson said.
