JVP to discuss common candidacy with Fonseka
The JVP is hoping to have discussions with General Sarath Fonseka on nominating him as a common candidate for a presidential election, JVP MP Vijitha Herath told reporters at the JVP head quarters this morning. The main topic of the discussion would be regarding steps to abolish the executive presidency.

Mr.Herath, try to make a condition that IF.. he bocomes the next president to avoid any more general elections. Otherwise how JVP could retain the present number of parliament seats. Even you have a big risk. Because I am one of persons who gave you my first preferencial vote. Now your party have no leader ship and getting ruined daily.

I think elections to parliament should be held first to get read of the media hyped JVP. If elections are held the JVP might end up with not a single seat. Since with all their revolutions and hype they don’t master more than 3 % to 4% of votes on average at any election. Then why should anyone take them serious????? . Its as I explained, for some reason they are hyped by the media. If the media don’t give them much prominence they will not exist. Srilanka was a nice humble country in the past. Its the JVP and the LTTE that introduced violence in the this country. As a result of them that the politicians got the upper hand to use extra powers. Its as a result of them that there is so much weapons in the open. Its because of them that some citizens have lot values in life and make us all ashamed of our country. Thanks to the current political leadership we could now again proudly call us Srilankans. Its up to them to restore the pride of all Srilankans and not the JVP and the LTTE. We hope for the best.

JVP ruined the county in 1988-1989 by killing thousands of innocent youths in the country with the UNP. Now after just 10 years they both going to do the same..Pls be aware all the Sri Lankans...we should allow these extremists to ruined our mother Sri Lanka

How many people want to have 'piggy back ride' with the Retired General....can he or will he take all these 'losers' on his back?

JVP will have to then get Sarath Fonseka elected as the President and get two third majority to make head way for consitutional change to abolish executiive Presidency. Is this relastic and acheivable. JVP will have around 1 to 2 seats (that is also due to PR system) while UNP will have 40 to 50 seats (or even less)in the next parliment. Then a robust military man will stand as the executive President giving all signals to the International heavy weight countries that Sri Lanka is a military country and block all their assistance. Then what will happen?

Oh dear General SF, previoulsy the JVP was shivering before you, Manoganeshan had no guts to look at your eyes previously, Mangala had no balls to talk to you in person...because you had a such a strong collosal immage...but now... you looks like dwarf...answering questionairs given by Mano and talking to JVP agreeing to their conditions, and riding on Mangala's shoulder to move forward. What a turn around...Thou shall not behave like this...The day you join hand with unholly alliance who betrayed this country...the war heros who sacrifieced their lives will spin in their tombs with agony in their souls. Therefore, it is never too late...think twice, thing wise!
