An apology from Kapruka Global Shop on Shipment delays
Dear friends,
We invented the Kapruka Global Shop concept so Sri Lankan's could purchase quality products from US websites such as Amazon
and eBay for the lowest prices. In the last few months we have had an unprecedented response with thousands of Sri Lankan
customers ordering products from us, and saving millions of rupees due to our low pricing (we charge a fixed 5% fee only,
and our shipping to Sri Lanka is as low as $3 per pound weight).
However a few customers have experienced delays getting their products. I want to apologize to those of you who were affected,
explain what caused the delays, and what we have done to fix those issues.
These delays were caused by shipping issues in USA, and also delays processing and releasing goods from Sri Lanka customs.
In USA, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) caused some of our shipments to be delayed due to various security
checks - in particular, certain items like laptops and watches were stuck in the airport for days while they examined them.
We are happy to say that this issue has been 100% rectified now and Kapruka Global Shop is now recognized by TSA as a trusted
shipper and our shipments are cleared much faster.
To ensure maximum speed in delivering goods, we have completely upgraded our entire shipping system, with shipments now arriving
twice a week to Sri Lanka from our warehouses in USA.
We have also switched to a bonded warehouse in Sri Lanka customs, and products are now cleared much faster, as quick as one to
two days in most cases.
However we have a small backlog of products from the previous system which we are working to ship and deliver to customers as
soon as possible.
On behalf of Kapruka and all our staff I would like to sincerely apologise for any delays customers have experienced and assure
you that things have significantly improved and we will continue to do everything we can to make things better.
Oh, on a related note, for those of you in Sri Lanka who like to buy things from UK websites, we have some exciting news
