appointed as a national list
member of Parliament for
the ruling United People's
Freedom Alliance (UPFA),
sworn in as Minister of
National Integration by
President Mahinda Rajapakse
in 2008, was made a vice
president of the SLFP, is to be
appointed to the Parliament
again through the national
list.
The SLFP has decided to
appoint Karuna to the
Parliament through the
national list as one of
Karuna ’s sisters is to contest
from Batticaloa District.
Earlier Karuna had decided to
contest the general election
from Batticaloa District.
Karuna’s sister who had been
a school principal enters
politics for the first time.
