Defencewire reports a disappointing situation regarding some politicians and bodies of fallen heroes of our army.

But the army official had given the politicians a splendid reply.

"Sir, soldiers join the Army to die in the battlefield and not to fall off a coconut tree and die! To us, there's a difference in the way we end our lives and we have chosen the former. Our Army never grumbled about fighting when it lost 1,500 men in one night. We will not grumble now. If 4,000 of us have to die to take Kilinochchi, I am happy to be part of that 4,000 for this is why we are in the Army"

so ? whats the surprise here ? UNP ponnayas with Ponil will always inquire gleefully about the number of dead bodies of the army & will never be happy if we are winning the war ne ?

the only way ponil & the clan can eve hope to come to power is if he can show that the war is a lost cause & we are loosing (as war is the only thing that this gov can boast of doing well & have been using it for everything as u know)

the ruling party will bend over backwards to show how successful we are (even on the expense of our soldiers) for them to be in power while the UNP will forever try to show people how unsuccessful we are at this war & even ridiculing some of the victories achieved by us at the expense of the soldiers in order to come to power..

No war is started without a political issue & it will always be fought with a political intent & it will also end with a political solution...

so asking to keep politics out of the war of the same politicians who uses the only tool they can use which is "the war" to keep them in power & to achieve power is absolutely foolish..
