If you take verses 190 to 191, it starts with "Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you", this can be easily taken as fight those who does not believe in Allah (non believers). More often than not, extremists tend to interpret it that way. Yes. And these old texts have no real use in the modern world. They only lead to chaos and confusion. Science and technology provide us the basic understanding of the world around us, and the necessary tools to carry out our daily activities (I know science is not complete, but it makes far more sense than religion). Rational thinking, ethics and morals will give us a value system to govern the society (Even though ethics and morals have some ties with religion, they can stand on their own; a good example is the legal and justice system). The bottom line : We don't need a religion anymore.</blockquote>
