whats the difference between Kilobit and Kilobyte???

i found out that many people don't know what is the difference between those two
a normal slt lines speed is 512 but many of the people think that is on kilobyte but they are wrong its on kilobits...

    8 kilobits =1 kilobyte
so a 512 kilobit must be divided on to 8 to get the speed from kilobytes its 64..
    and slt says 512 kbit/s not 512kbp/s
here is a picture from the up link from my adsl modem just see the up link and the down link its on bps not kpbs

here is an article from Wikipedia

many people get confused bout this so i just wanted to share what i know with my friend's.......... Thanks:) :) :)

    Good post mate.. :)

People get confused so much when it comes to bits and bytes.

    Basic concepts are:

    1 byte = 8 bits

    1 kilobyte = 1024 bytes
