Is it Mervyn’s New Year resolution?
Posted By: Afzal - KSA
Are you sincere or were you compelled to say it? OR HAVE YOU COME TO YOUR SENSES?

Good if he is true to his words!!!!But dont forget all these are politicians. You know what I mean.....That mean a lot!!!
Posted By: True Lankan
should have been put behind bars for six months so that the others too learn a lesson as public servants.in australia he would have had to resign two years ago from public office.
Posted By: Roshan
How is he going to pay that 750,000 Rs. with a ministry's salary unless he has other means of income? (LEOPARD NEVER CHANGES ITS SPOTS)
Posted By: Kalu Arachchi
So finally he accepts. Definitely there is a motive behind.
Posted By: ME
So ministers can do any thing and apologise whn they want. This is call democracy.God less Srilanka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted By: gamunu
So much money to sprinkle. Hope the Bribery and Inland Revenue Department officials will take note and investigate how our (M)King has accumulated so much wealth.(If they have at least an inch of back bone)
Posted By: Athi
Dr. from where did you get money because you always say that you are a poor man orally.
Posted By: Rahman
This is peanuts for a person in his line of business. Supreme Court should have given him 'six of the best'. That's the only language he understands.
Posted By: Cynic
The lesson cost Mervyn Rs.750,000.00! If he wants to be in the news he could do that by doing good things but not through thuggery. It's disgraceful for such people to hold ministerial posts, leave alone to carry a 'doctorate'! Be good Mervynn!
Posted By: TRUE LANKAN
Let me be a good boy from now onwards...thanks to Supreme Court.
Posted By: Sanjeewa
Hello Dr Gamunu !! Is there anyone left that you have not harmed or are you going to get your golayas to take over from now. hahahaha. Joke of the year
Posted By: upul
Will the Bribery Commissioner/Tax Authorities inquire as to how he earned RS. 750,000/-?
Posted By: M. Abdus Salaam
Good Boy ! Don't be naughty again ok ..
Posted By: Appuhami
Nothing but jail sentence is a must if he has admitted that he has stolen the camera, court should not show any mercy to this type of self proclaimed "thug" put him away
Posted By: Dina
If he has accepted the facts... then he should be remanded.. why is he out there.. who is protecting who?
Posted By: Common Man
is this a confession.
Posted By: nelun a
you have virtually admitted that you have done that and got away without punishment
Posted By: Dina
good Boy.
Posted By: John Victor
HAS THE DOCTOR REALIZED HIS MISTAKES NOW? AT LAST HE HAS ADMITTED THAT HE HAS HARASSED JOURNALISTS IN THE PAST. WE WILL WAIT AND SEE HIS FUTURE BEHAVIOUR.
Posted By: BLACK CAT
If an ordinary Sri Lankan pleads guilty to have stolen a coconut to feed his hungry children, that poor man is sentenced to a prison term. Here, Mervyn has pleaded guilty for theft and damages to cameras worth millions. The general public expects a prison sentence with hard labour to the Minister for those in Labour.

I just wonder How is keeping all these crooks when they were found guilty and punished by SC. Usually even in the private sector a person will find it difficult to get a job if that person was punished by the Court of Law. don't mind this type of persons. But Why?????????? We don't know Why?????????? Cynthia.
Posted By: Cynthia Pietersz
If he accept his offence then have to excuse. If he does again will punish triple with jail sentence.
Posted By: Shiraj
Shameless sod. Justice is not the same for a poor man.God only knows whom he will threaten to get this money.Mervyn 's tactics we all know how he works.
