KUBUNTU help needed ?????

guyz i am having a Prolink h9601 modem...i installed kubuntu on ma PC .................the modem is not detected.......are there any drivers for this in kubuntu ....??? or please tell me a way to make the modem work on kubuntu

machan kubuntu wala top bar 1ke right conner 1ke tower 1ka icon 1 thiyanawa. eka click karala vpn connections click karanna. ethanin connections select karanna puluwan. godak durata modem 1 auto detect wenawa ethakota.

First of all, it's difficult or impossible to find drivers for USB modems for Ubuntu/Kubuntu. There are 3rd party driver providers such as UbuDSL (www.[B]ubudsl[/B].com). But I don't think they support your model of modem. Visit there and have a go.

My advice is to exchange your modem with a router or a modem with a LAN port.

is that an internal dial up modem? or a usb modem? if its a usb modem, me too suggest u to get a router (if ur LAN card is working properly! ) then there will be no need for drives... getting unsupported usb hardwares working with ubuntu is a nightmare for me! ! !

    wvdial use karanna


    > sudo apt-get install wvdial
    > sudo vi /etc/wvdial.conf (get a sample for ISP provider from the web)
    inserted the usb internet modem
    > sudo wvdial

    that's it.
