machan, you will be able to run light weight and some sort of exe files through wine. but thats not the point. wine is windows emulation.. if you gives priority for that, why dont you just use windows?

ubunty is a linux os.. you cant run windows softwares on linux. same applies to mac as well. they have their own softwares. you will be able to find some equivalent softwares for windows softwares. for example, there is a software called GIMP which will allow you to edit photos.... etc,,
