Hey... U guys have to understand the difference between Wing Chun & other Martial arts. I wonder why u guys saying Wing Chun or Wing Tsun is not a complete combat system. If you have done the full Wing Chun system you would not say that. Difference is Wing Chun is close combat system . Most of the blocks works in deflecting method (Circular motion). But others such as Taekwondo, karate or shorinji are different. They are full contact & most suitable for Armed forces. Thats the reason in SL armed forces are trained in Taekwondo / karate or shorinji . Armed doesn't need close combat. Understand the difference. Im also a 6th level Wing Chun practitioner & a sanda player . for last 15 years by my experince I would recommend Wing Chun (or Wing Tsun) for street fights & close combats. Its 100% practical except in ground figting. In normal figting event or tournament if the player is falen, then refree stops the fight . But what if you got falen while fighting with a MMA/BJJ fighter ? Bcoz BJJ/MMA players are doing well in ground fighting .. Then Wing Chun is helpless. Anybody ever heard about the fight between Grand Master William Cheung & Emin Boztep ? .... Both were Wing Chun experts. But Emin Boztep was good in ground fighting .. So Iwould rather advise go for Wing Chun + BJJ ... Thnx
