Did you guys know that the publicity we got from the IIFA weekend, Fashion show and the awards ceremony is worth 1500 million rupees??? and you guys are still complaining??? jeezz guys, when something good happens for the country grow some balls and be happy for it.. just dont criticize it cuz your in the other side of the river!! bloody hypocrites!!

lol...even being in the tourism business you seem to know so little.....

i my friend used to be in the imports and exports business...went to alot of countries back in those days....

when compared to those countries we get little or no tourists....

do you know the main selling point of sri lanka....cheap....

sri lanka is a vacation spot for lower middle class of the world....i based this off the people i met in my travels....

and one of the leading cause of this is that sri lanka had bad press about it in the rest of the world.....even in Malaysia there is a 24/7 news station dedicated to spreading LTTE propaganda against sri lanka....

and ppl actually believe those things.....many a cab driver has questioned in when they learn i was sri lankan in that way....

so you see.....the tourists sri lanka is seeing right now are but the tip of the ice berg.....the cheap variety....

if lanka had better press we would get better class of tourists.....

and what better way than to show that India believes in us....and shows the south Indians "the major propaganda machine against sri lanka right now" is not taken seriously even in India.....

so u think your KNOWLEDGE ,which gained from the people who u met in u'r travels, surpass mine who actually a part of the mechanism of tourist industry. U'r funnier than i thought lol.

do u know the amount of tourists who came in this season is LESS than the amount in same season last year when the war was on it's peak. U r wrong completely if u say sl is a cheap spot for vacation. coz the prices in SL are higher than the prices of most south Asian tourist destinations.

anyway i wont say iifa is bad coz advertising is always good in any way only the cost is higher and the sad part is we pay it from our pockets!!!!!!!!!!

Diamonddrago is right. It is the lower class poor foreigners that usually come here. Now the war is over we do need to change the image of Sri Lanka being a cheap holiday destination for third class foreigners and also one for paedophiles to hang out on our beaches abusing poor youngsters.

facts you don't know about sl tourism
1.some people pay 4000+$ just to travel from ratmalana airport to a hotel in the north cost with their families. can u call it cheap??
2.there are hotels, per night you have to pay 1500$.!!! yes it's in SL
3.a 5 day tour in the country will cost them more than their flight ticket!!!!

STILL WANNA CALL SL A CHEAP PLACE?????
