you are comparing normal slt copper wire dialup(56k) with lankabell cdma.
cdma has better speeds thats normal. its 153.6kbps as i remember.
thats 230kbps shown is between your computer and the device. most Huawei FWTs(fixed wireless terminals) show that speed.
so real speed is around 153kb/8 = 19.125KB per second
well sometimes it reaches over 21 too but normally around 18,19 range.

A frnd bought SLT CDMA, another bought Bell one, Bell speed's suck according to him, Slt one hasnt bought the usb cable, else cud hav checkd

LankaBell CDMA

Even though it shows 230.4 Kbps I can go upto 18 KBps (= 144 Kbps) using my LankaBell PCMCIA phone in my laptop. It's really useful for me bcoz of there's no wire to connect when internet is needed. With 100Hrs free surfing, what else i need.
